Rear Foglight Brackets
The “No Drill” solution for your JP Jeep rear fogs!
One of the important accessories on the Jurassic Park Jeeps were the amber rear foglights. These were mounted cheaply and quickly for the movie by drilling through the body of the Jeep and screwing them in. The screen-accurate mounting location also interferes with opening the hardtop rear window (since the movie Jeeps all had soft tops or no top at all, it never mattered). Not wanting to drill more holes into the tub than I needed to, and having this rear window interference, I designed my own rear fog light brackets and had them laser-cut and CNC bent. They used modified shoulder bolts so they can be loosened and tightened with no tools, with just one hand.
These are occasionally offered for sale in my Store section, though they tend to sell out fast.
I went through quite a few revisions on these, including testing them for a year in all weather and road conditions to make sure they wouldn't loosen.
Note the channel for the power and ground wires.
Since the powdercoated aluminum is non-conductive, a ground lug is added to ground the light body to the jeep frame.
Looks just like the movie!
Nice and flush up to the body, just above the rear light.
The tool-free design allows for a quick one-handed loosening, then the light slides backward in a slot and folds down, giving clearance for the hard top to open.
