The brackets mount behind the taillights using the taillight bolts. These are often rusty and gritty, so the kit includes new stainless-steel hardware. The brackets are powder-coated aluminum for a durable, professional look. Due to the powder-coating, you will need to add a separate grounding wire for the lights, which is detailed in the installation guide.
For hardtop owners, one-handed, no-tool wing nuts will release the fog lights and allow them to slide out from the Jeep and point down, giving enough clearance to open the rear window glass.
For 2026, new rear taillight screws come standard in the kits! These are stainless steel serrated flange hex screws which provide good electrical connection from the taillights to the body tub, are more resilient than the factory screws, and spread out the force of the screw without requiring any washers. Each kit includes 6x taillight screws. I’ve been using these on my own Jeep for years now with great results.
