This handy device uses an Adafruit Sound FX board with 9 Cherry MX keyboard keys to control 8 different audio triggers. The 9th button was added for symmetry, and although it isn't connected to the audio chip, I've provided easy through-hole solder pads for using the button in your own project!
The unit is powered via the micro-USB port, and stereo audio output is via the 3.5mm jack. Please note this does not have an onboard amplifier and only output line level audio. Perfect for the AUX input on your car stereo, PA system, or portable speaker.
All sound effects and buttons can be replaced and remapped very easily without any coding! Simply plug the soundboard into your computer via the micro-USB port, and it shows up as a standard flash drive. Full instructions are included in the User Guide linked below.
Fully assembled and tested - $90
This is the premium option if you're looking for a turn-key product. I assemble and test the PCB, pre-load the board with Jurassic-themed sound effects, install the keycaps, and package it up in a 3D-printed case made from PLA+. The clear keycap covers are removable, and the User Guide includes graphics templates for adding your own button icons to the keys!
Bare PCB - $15
This is the standard option for the DIYer looking to make a custom case, or the electronics beginner wanting some easy soldering practice. This includes the bare PCB and no other components.
The free User Guide includes step-by-step soldering instructions, a full parts list of everything you need to buy to assemble the board and where to buy it, and links to the 3D printed case files.
